Maltipoo (Maltese & Poodle)
The Maltipoo is a Designer Puppy that results from breeding a Maltese and a toy or miniature Poodle. Since neither of their parents sheds much, the Maltipoo may have some hypoallergenic qualities and perhaps be a good choice for people with known allergies to dogs. Their coat may be long and straight like the Maltese, or more curly like the Poodle and may be any color or combination of colors, though frequently they are white or cream. Occasional bathing and regular brushing will be necessary to keep the coat in optimum condition. Maltipoos are intelligent, loving and affectionate with all members of the family, including other pets. They are easy to train and will be happy with minimum activity levels such as chasing toys in the family home. Therefore they are very appropriate for both home and apartment environments. Size: around 12-14 inches, 5-12 pounds, depending on the size Poodle involved in that particular breeding.
