Italian Greyhounds have been the companions of royalty in Europe, especially in England and Scotland , for hundreds of years. The larger Greyhound was selectively bred down to come up with this graceful member of the toy breed group. They are one of the sweetest of all dogs, with a mild, affectionate manner. They are fine boned and elegant. Italian Greyhounds do not like cold weather and should be protected from it. They can be equally at ease in a home or apartment and are easy to care for due to their short, soft coat and natural good manners. They require little exercise and are very popular. The coat can be almost any color, and in size, the Italian Greyhound will range up to 15 inches and 15 pounds when fully grown.
