Pug
The Pug originated in China where their sole function was as a pampered companion pet and to this day the breed is known for their unique character ~~ smart, tidy, willing and loving. The Pug's coat requires little care and he does not shed much. Pugs do not drool, though you might expect that due to their pushed -in face. Pugs are good with children but often jealous of other dogs in the family. Pugs come in three colors: black, silver and apricot (fawn). They do not require a lot of exercise and are easy to train using rewards. They can be equally at home in a house or apartment setting. The owner of a Pug can expect unconditional love at all times, and many Pug owners tend to be Pug owners all their lives, once they have tried the breed. The Pug is part of the toy dog breed group and when full grown will be about 11-12 inches tall and should weigh approximately 15-18 pounds.
