This designer breed results from the crossing of a Schnauzer and a Poodle.  As both these breeds come in more than one size, the ultimate size of a Schnoodle puppy will depend on the size of his/her parents.  The Schnoodle combines the Poodle's high intelligence with the affectionate, loyal nature of the Schnauzer.  Schnoodles are easily trained and will serve as good watch dogs by letting their owner know when someone strange is near.  They love children and other dogs and can be happy in either a home or apartment setting.  The Schnoodle likes to be with its family members whether they are jogging or merely playing fetch in the livingroom.  Since neither the Poodle nor the Schnauzer sheds, the Schnoodle is widely sought as a hypoallergenic dog that may be appropriate for someone who suffers from allergies to dogs.  Size will depend on the size of the parents, and the coat may favor either the curly Poodle coat or the more coarse Schnauzer coat.  The coat color also depends on the parents' coloring.  Weekly brushing is recommended to keep the Schnoodle looking his/her best.
