Teddy Bear (Shih Tzu & Bichon Frise)
The Teddy Bear is a Designer Breed resulting from the crossing of a Shih Tzu with a Bichon Frise. Teddy bears puppies are bred for temperament and were, in fact, originally used with handicapped children because their good nature enabled these children to hold the puppies without risking a struggle or any snippiness. The Teddy is not at all high strung and is not very vocal. Their coat, which comes in any number of colors, is soft and silky to the feel, but will require some care to remain at its best. The primary personality trait of this breed is their affectionate nature, which is shown in their love for all people and other pets. Teddies learn tricks quickly and love to show off. They do not require an inordinate amount of exercise, so they adapt well to apartment or condo living. Size: 10-12 inches. Weight: 6-16 pounds.
