This designer puppy results from the breeding of a Maltese and a Shih Tzu . Since both dogs are known as breeds that are hypo-allergenic to some degree, this might be the ideal puppy for someone with dog allergies. Many other characteristics are common to both breeds and would therefore be expected to be found in this puppy: small size, affectionate nature, lack of need for much exercise, desire to be a pampered companion. This puppy should flourish in an apartment setting or in a house where he will want to be included in all family activities. The Malshi's coat will require some degree of attention and, quite possibly, professional grooming to maintain it's optimal condition. Frequent brushing is suggested, and if started early, should be a pleasant experience for both the Malshi and his owner.
