Exotic Shorthair
The Exotic Shorthair looks just like a Persian cat with short hair. The breed was created by outcrossing short haired cat varieties (ie. burmese, Russian blues, domestic short hairs, etc.) , so that the outcome is a Persian looking cat, without the grooming requirements of a Persian. The exotic's plush, short coat makes them resemble a teddy bear, and that coat will not mat or tangle like a Persian's long coat. Many people call the Exotic "the lazy man's Persian". Like the Persian, the Exotic has a quiet, easy-going nature and they are very affectionate and people-oriented. Obviously this breed does well in an apartment or condominium setting. They come in many colors and even are available in the "pointed" varieties (seal, torti, blue, etc.).
